Ms. Wohlgemuth earned admission into Sun-Wha Art High School in Seoul, a very selective school commonly recognized as the best art high school in Korea. After graduation, she came to the U.S. to continue her studies and began performing professionally in orchestras under well-known conductors such as Charles Bontrager, David Zinmann, and Loren Mazel. Ms. Wohlgemuth served as Concertmaster with the Pittsburgh Youth Symphony Orchestra and played in many Western Pennsylvania orchestras. Her teachers included Sung-Gwon Koh and Charles Stegeman (current Concertmaster of Pittsburgh Ballet and Opera Orchestras). In 1992, she earned a BM in Violin Performance from the School of Music at Duquesne University and has continued performing as soloist and within ensembles. In addition to performing, she has been actively teaching privately for over 20 years, incorporating Suzuki methods for young beginners (she is Suzuki certified Book 1) but also putting heavy emphasis on reading music and establishing proper posture and technique. And since 2006, she has even reached out from her private studio into regional youth orchestras as a violin section coach (Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra, and local school districts).
